Cultural References[edit | edit source]
- Willie Sutton (1901-1980): Pam asks Cheryl, "Do you know why people rob banks? Because that's where the money is." This quote is attributed to Sutton, a prolific bank robber who, over a 40-year career, stole an estimated $2 million dollars. Although he later denied in his 1976 autobiography that he ever said it.
- Battlestar Galactica Reboot (2004-2010): Cheryl murmurs one of the catchphrases of the show, "So say we all", to herself in response to Pam's attempts at a motivational speech.
- Aliens (1986): The armour and weapon Archer use are a reference to the those used in Aliens by Drake and Vasquez.
- Heat (1995): When Pam asks Cheryl why people rob banks, Cheryl replies "If I'm remembering this right, it's because the action is the juice?". This is a direct reference to a line by Tom Sizemore's character in the 1995 film.
- Teapot Dome Scandal (1921-1930): The subject of Ray's musical is the Teapot Dome Scandal, a bribery scandal in which the Harding Administration's Secretary of the Interior accepted loans and gifts to lease Navy oil reserves to private companies at low rates with non-competitive contracts.
Running Gags / Callbacks[edit | edit source]
- Pam? Pam?? PAM!!!
- Mention of the yakuza
Continuity[edit | edit source]
- Reality (Non-Dream):Archer remains in a coma brought upon by the events of Deadly Velvet: Part II (s7e10)
- Dream / Reality Crossover:
- (Dream) Brett Bunsen shows up captaining a ship that explodes at the very end, having managed to get into the path of jettisoned eggs. / (Reality) Brett was often a danger magnet, getting hit by exceedingly improbable ricochets and eventually dying to a bullet wound.
- Dream (Non-Reality):
