The bangs joke is almost certainly not about Michelle Obama, as the completed episode aired just about two weeks after the inauguration. It is probably a call back to Mallory's dislike of Katya. Mallory specifically mentions Katya's bangs twice in season three. Removing the Michelle Obama link and will add in the episode quotes about Katya's bangs today.
